Management of cardiac patients during pregnancy continues to present a challenge to the pregnant patient and her physicians. It requires a multidisciplinary approach, an understanding of the cardiovascular physiology and careful selection of diagnostic and therapeutic modalities which provide a high yield for the mother and a maximum safety for the fetus. Because pregnant patients are traditionally excluded from clinical trials the management of cardiac problems in pregnancy depends mainly on clinical reports and physician experience which have led to a significant growth in knowledge.
The goals of “The First International Meeting on Cardiac Problems in Pregnancy" is to advance the knowledge and expertise of health care professionals around the globe by exchange of information, development of collaborative research both basic and clinical and establishing guidelines for the management of various cardiovascular conditions during pregnancy and the post partial period. The program will include invited lectures, workshops as well as original oral and poster presentations which will cover a wide spectrum of topics in all disciplines related to pregnancy associated cardiovascular conditions.
The meeting will take place on February 26 to 28, 2010 in Valencia, Spain. Valencia is a beautiful large city, conveniently located and offers excellent accommodation for the meeting and at the same time provides a unique and energetic atmosphere of history, excitement and fun. We hope to see you in Valencia! |
